The Countdown Begins!!!

We are just hours away from the begining of "A Year in the Life" and I can't wait!!!! I have made the first entry into our A Year in the Life tab here on my blog. I hope you will take a moment to check it out. And if your are signed up for this year long project I hope you will check back often and use it as a great refence and ancouragement to stick with it to the end.

On another note - I am trying to get my Christmas photos edited so that I can share some with you all. But I got a wild hair on Christmas night and gutted my studio! It has taken me until 7pm last night to get it back together so I have not even started editing. And today I started packing the Year in the Life Kits so I probably won't get to it until early next week. But we did have a magical holiday and I am so truly blessed to have been able to spend it with my family. I am especially blessed to have 2 little ones to share my Christmas with - there is nothing like a child to show you how to really enjoy Christmas! I hope you and your families were well and happy over the holiday weekend.

Lady Bugs!!!

This week I have been wasting time and totally enjoying myself at my sewing machine! Mind you there are LOTS of things that are more pressing that I SHOULD be doing, but oh well. . .
I callmy newest granddaughter Lady Bug and so I have been busily making her some new lady bug treats.

Isn't she the sweetest little lady bug you've ever seen?
So here is what I have made so far. . .

a couple of bibs and a burp cloth. . .

a tummy-time pillow with rings to hold her toys close at hand

Here it is without the toys attached

Here is a little "lovey" "Taggy" "sensory blanket" everyone calls them something different

I even made the ladybug that is attached in the center. The lining is that great minky stuff in bright red!
This is her quilt but I made it right after she was born.
Bryanna liked all of the goodies so much and since they are all staying at MY house I ended up making her a quilt and a tummy time pillow to match her nursery. I forgeot to take pictures of them before I sent them on their way.
So I am officially done sewing now until after Christmas. But I wanted to share what I have been up to.
Now it's time to clean up and start getting all of my Christmas stuff done!!!
If I don't get back before next week -
MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!!!!

Success!

That is what I feel tonight was!
I had my first "A Year in the Life" open house at the Creative Quest. It is a busy time of the year for everyone and parking was a nightmare in dowtown Glendale tonight, but yet 10 brave woman showed up for my presentation! I have been so excited about this project for months and have kept it under wraps for the most part until now. And now I am excited about the way my "baby" was received and can't wait for January when we can all get started on this journey together!
I wanted to share this simple collage I did for my Year in the Life album. One of the sections is called "The People that Touch My Life" so I took pictures of all of my family holding my little "Life" sign (that I shared the other day). I captured only their hands and the "Life" to symbolize that they touch my life.
If you live in the Valley and want to know more about my "A Year in the Life" project you are welcome to joing me on Sunday from 1-3pm at the Creative Quest or you can email me with questions.
I hope you all have a great weekend and feel like whatever you did today was a SUCCESS!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!

Tomorrow is my "baby's" 22nd birthday! Where has the time gone? Happy birthday my Love - I love you more and more each day. I am so very proud of you!
This will be the first time EVER that I have not spent Lizzy's birthday with her. I am not even sure how to process that? She is now living in the dorms and has finals so she will be tied up. I probably won't even be able to catch her on the phone between her work and school schedules. So we celebrated her big day yesterday. The whole family was here for dinner and cake (and football too). It was a fun evening and she was able to blow out all of her candles in one breath even with a baby in her arms. It seems like just last week she was a baby in my arms.
Have a great

I am SO Excited!

In 10 days I will be introducing my newest project. A project that I have been planning for months! A project that will take a WHOLE year to complete!! A project that I can’t wait to get started on!!! This project has been a big secret for months and only two people have gotten to see what it’s all about. I am hoping that many of you will join me on this memorable & creative endeavor.

Starting in January I will begin a hybrid scrapbooking project at The Creative Quest called "A Year in the Life" that will give you the opportunity to document all of the big and little moments that make up one year of your life. Don’t let the word “scrapbooking” scare you away; this is NOT going to be your typical 12x12 scrapbook full of embellishments and do-dads and pretty little things glued to a page. Don’t think your life is not exciting enough to do this, it is. Even if you have never scrapbooked before you can do this project.

The Creative Quest will play host to our quarterly get-togethers and even though it is a year long project, it will not be a huge commitment of your time away from home. We will get together in January, April, July and October, with one last get-together in January of 2012.

I have set up a special tab here on my blog just for this project so that you can follow along with me, keep up to date on where we are on the project and to get some tips and ideas as we go along. Another one of the reasons I am doing this on my blog is so that I won’t get too “busy” to actually work on the project. You will make me accountable.

On Friday, December 10th from 6-8pm and also on Sunday, December 12th from 1-3pm The Creative Quest and I will be hosting an open house to share all of the details of this exciting new project. Of course there won’t be a finished sample for you to see since I will be working along side you all year. But there will be lots to see and touch. I will share all of the details, outline and costs. You will get to see all of the products we will be using (and here’s a little surprise – NO Graphic 45 paper in this one!).

So, I hope you will join me on either Friday night or Sunday afternoon for some cookies, coffee, and creativity!
