Family Photo Day

Last week we had our FIRST family portraits taken since Bug was born! I just got them today and cannot wait to get them framed and on the walls! I figured I would show off my beautiful family tonight. Enjoy. . .

 Here's my whole gang
My older daughter Bryanna and her family
My baby girl and her man, Richard
My Mom and my Grandbabies - isn't this a sweet picture
 My goofy girls
Auntie Yo with the girls - Lizzy always says "yo" when she starts talking to you and so when Monkey was a baby she started calling her that. So Liz has never been Aunt Lizzy - always Yo
 My Monkey
and my Bug (playing puppy dog)
Here's me and my Man, Gary
Gary and I with our 4 girls - this started out to be a picture of just Gary, our 2 girls and I but the grandbabies just had to be in it.

So this is my beautiful family
No I suppose I should finish packing kits for this weekend.
Have a great day
Till we meet again. . . .

Just a little Peace in a Chaotic World

In the midst of all the chaos that has been going on in the world this week, I thought I'd share a little story of Peace with you all tonight.

The other day my husband was cleaning up the yard, trimming bushes etc after work. Finally it got too dark for him to finish so he had to leave some branches etc on the lawn. The next morning I went outside and found a Spanish dove snuggled down in my grass holding an olive branch that Gary had left behind. I just just stood there and looked at her for several minutes and she seemed very content to let me be so close.

As I stood there I thought to myself - how wonderful this is. I felt like God had sent this little dove to me as a reminder of His peace. In fact I  have named her "Peace" I wish I could have gotten a picture of my little dove but sadly my big dog came running out and scared her away.

Although my little dove was easily scared off by my big pit/ridgeback dog when she came barking and running into the yard. God's peace is not so easily scared away. In fact His peace will scare off the Big Scary" things in your life!

It has been a couple of days since Peace came to visit, but I can't get her off of my mind - so I figured I would share her with you.
I did not take this picture - I found it online. But this is what my little dove looked like

May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way.
The Lord be with all of you.
(2 Thes 3:16)

Have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend
Till we meet again. . .

Happy Anniversary???

Can you believe that it has been a year ago that . . .

MY DESKTOP CRASHED!!!!!

Yeppers - it has happened again!
April 14th, 2012 I posted this
and on April 15th, 2013 my desktop died again.
Luckily I did not lose my data - my hard drives are fine -
but my motherboard is dead.
But I am not too upset, all of my files are nice and safe
(although I can't access them right now)
and I have been wanting to find an old motherboard that I
could make some art out of.
Viola - I got one now!
God works in mysterious ways
(insert big cheesy smile)

But on a happy note - I got to spend the whole evening with my youngest
we worked on her graduation announcements and had dinner.
It took several hours, but she got them all addressed and I got them all stamped,
stuffed and sealed (licking 50 envelopes - YUCK!)

So that is about all the news I have for tonight
I just thought it was so funny that the computer decided to die on the anniversary
of its predecessor's death, and I just had to share.
I hope you guys are having a GREAT week so far!
I sure am, even with the whole computer inconvenience.

Enjoy the rest of your week
till we meet again. . . .

I've Been Busy in My Studio. . .

I have a couple more new class samples for you to take a peek at (they will be in the store today if you want to see them in real life). I am very happy with both of them but I must say I LOVE this first one.
Antiquities Art Journal
 Saturday May 25th, 2-5pm

I have been wanting to teach this technique and this binding for quite sometime now - I finally am going to do it! I love this plaster look and feel to this book. Although it looks a little rough, it is actually so smooth and has a wonderful weight and texture as you hold it in your hands. The binding is a new binding I learned a while back - although it is technically a "sewn" binding it uses no needles. It is quick and easy and a great way to bind heavy single pages together. You really don't want to miss this class. It is only a 3 hour class so you will be kept very busy but its gonna be FUN!
Here are some more details for you to take a look at - The book lays nice and flat so you can actually create in it. And the pages already have that first layer on them so they are ready to go when inspiration hits! Each page is a 6x8 canvas board so it is going to hold up well to any paint, sprays, inks or mediums you put on them.

Time & Energy Canvas
 Saturday June 29th, 10am - 5pm

Since posting my last two personal canvases, I have had some requests to teach this technique. I didn't think I could do it because it is a lengthy process. But I managed to get something going that we can finish in a class period. This is a 6x6 canvas with nice deep 1 1/2" sides. I have a lot of symbolism going on this canvas (which is what I like to do with this style of art) all about what we should be spending our Time & Energy on - can you figure any of it out from looking at the picture?

I hope I will get to see you in one of my upcoming classes. Until then - have a GREAT weekend and
MAKE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Till we meet again. . .

Proud Mama Alert here. . .
Just got off the phone with my Lizzy,
and she officially has a job teaching in the 2013-14 school year!!!
That's right - my Lizzy is a real grown-up now!!!
The really cool thing is that THEY approached HER for the position!!!
This was her FIRST and only interview!!!
And they hired her 15 minutes after the interview!!!
I could not be prouder of her!
Congrats my Love - I knew you could do it!!!!

This concludes my self-indulgent special notice
we will return to our regular programing soon

May's MM Friday w/ Marta

Hey you guys - I just wanted to give you a peek at next month's (May) MM Friday project. I'm gonna try to help you get ready for the 4th of July festivities with this project. . .
I really like primitive style art for patriotic things - this is my take on some primitive art.
We are going to use some new products and mediums in this class - and we will even be using a bit of the constitution in our art.
It was hard to see in the 1st picture - but our Freedom Flag Canvas will be hanging from some old wire with a painted wooden bead.
I hope you will be able to join us!

I will be back soon to catch up on all of the other "goings on" in a day or so. I have not been feeling great and have been laying low.
Till we meet again. . . .
